    Meet Chris

    As a young adult with special needs, Chris needed help transitioning into the adult world.  He needed to learn the skills necessary for living and working in the community as independently as he possibly could…and he learned these skills at one of our community living facilities, which provides behavioral and transitional supports for young adults.

    At Nicholas Drive Chris regained his health by losing 50 pounds, he gained emotional stability and learned the skills he needed to graduate from the program and move into his own apartment.

    Today, Chris is successfully living in his own apartment, attends community college and has a job in the community.

Meet John “When John was born in 1933, children with Down syndrome did not live at home, but his parents wouldn't have it any other way. As John grew up he required more support and eventually came to Ability Beyond Disability where he began to build a life for himself.”
